Caring for a new puppy or kitten is almost like taking care of a small baby. They want attention, food, warmth, everything. I remember when I first got my puppy, I didn’t sleep well for two nights because it was crying all day like it was kidnapped
Feeding schedule, regular cleaning, vaccination, and just playing with them really helps them settle. Is there anyone here with pro tips?

I've raised 4 Bernese Mountain dogs in the last 10 years and will have a new pup hopefully the first week in January. My advice is simple, if you get your pup from a breeder, take their advice. Crating is a personal choice and not one my husband and I have ever done. Many breeders recommend it and if it works for you then do it. I have found just letting the pup find a spot they call 'home for the night' works best. My current Berner pup sleep curled up around the toilet. It's nice and cool and Berners are very warm natured. Get your pup to a vet as soon as you get it for an exam and make sure you do the vaccines.
Kitten questions? I have raised more than I can count from birth on. So feel free to ask. I'm not a vet by any means just have a lot of experience.
