Who likes computer programming?

What can you code? What languages you know? Where did you learn and how? Is there anyone who is a beginner or simply has considered it?

I was a programmer for a living. Made loan origination software for banks. Gave it all up to look after my mother full time. I'd go back if I could, but I'm nine years removed from that job and as with all tech jobs, time leaves you behind. So I doubt I'll ever get back in there. I was a Java developer (we also used Spring and Velocity and built on the Bootstrap framework), and it was a perfectly fine job. Paid amazingly well compared to now...but...c'est la vie.

I studied C ++, VB.net, C # .net and Java at a community college. I got good grades in all of them except for C ++ which was only a C. It was in the 2000s. In fact, I think VB.net isn't even used anymore.

I wanted to like it, took a few classes as I knew programming paid a lot, but I couldn't wrap my head around coding. So I just stick to networking.

It takes a while to "get it", but some don't want to wait and I understand.

I was willing to wait, but I was doing it in a fast class enviroment which I think was the wrong way for me. I would do better on a slow 1 on 1 type learning.

Yeah, that's the problem with universities etc., they expect people to absorb stuff in so much time, but some absorb stuff slower, but that doesn't mean they don't know it at the end.
