This is the much awaited time of the year all over the globe. It's the holidays time. I don't celebrate Christmas being a Hindu. But I am super excited seeing the festive mood and holiday mood setting in around. The malls and public places are decked up in Christmas spirit and you hear Christmas songs everywhere. I am excited because this is one holiday where all four of us get holidays together and we can plan for some family fun together.
Christmas and New year are just around. Are you geared up for the holidays? What's the plan?

I am prepared for the holidays this year. It has really been a hectic year for me. And I just can't wait for the holidays to kick in proper. One thing that I surely know I would do in abundance this holiday would be to rest and eat.

It becomes a commercial date and lose its regilious background. You did not need to prepare for that because people wants for example to sell things in these days.

@Fidelia. I can sense the excitement in your tone. You seem all prepared to have a holiday full of fun and excitement. And everyone deserves a nice break after a hectic year to eat and rest and have some good relaxed time with loved ones. Have a good holiday.
@monster_masterpiece. You have a point there. Things around the globe become more of a commercial thing in this Era of business and commercialization. Festivals are loosing their real spirit. But then one can always try not to get influenced and celebrate it in a humble traditional way with friends and family. We can always make that choice.

I am a Hindu so I don't celebrate Christmas. However, I don't celebrate New year either. We don't use Gregorian calendar in our country, we have our own calendar. Therefore Christmas and New Year are not holiday times for me.

Even I am a Hindu. And so Christmas is not a celebration for me. But yes, India is a secular country and I have a handful of Christian friends. So, we do get invited for the Christmas dinner and celebration. When my daughters were young, they enjoyed putting Christmas tree and get excited to receive gifts under the tree. Now, tgeu are adults and have outgrown that.
What calendar do they follow in your country?
We follow Gregorian calendar officially. But then each community ( even in Hinduism) have their own new year day here.
