There have been numerous movies that are based on books. Some do justice to the books while some movies come as a great disappointment to the readers. Many a times, the movies based on books get into controversy because the creative liberty by the movie makers cross the line and sabotage with the real story of the book. There has been movies that have done better job than the book. All this can be a personal perspective.
Let's share our thoughts on this with few personal experiences and examples.

A lot of the movies I watch are based on literature. I've wondered before if Hollywood is having trouble coming up with new movies so they try to make movies based on literature as a way to branch out so they can do more movies.

In my opinion, the book is always better. I’ve watched some movie adaptations and they just mess up the whole story. But some of them did great..“Life of Pi” for example really impressed me. But normally, I prefer reading the book first before watching.

Yeah like 90% of the time the books are better.

There’s been a few decent ones. The few Harry Potter ones I’ve seen are one of the more decent ones. The Twilight ones weren’t too bad either. The Host wasn’t too bad either.

Then there’s others where they completely change a lot and it’s just like…uh what?
