Many people believe that as long as the pets are well fed then they don’t need anything else. But that is not true, they need our attention as well.
We need to make out time to okay with them and spend time with them.
How often do you do this?

When Smokey was around, before she passed in July 2022, we would always make time to play with her or spend time with her, and it was always something she enjoyed.
Even now, a cat of one of our neighbours likes to come around and spend time with us when his owners are out of the house. He doesn't like being alone, as he was abandoned as a kitten, and they took him in. We always find time to spend and play with him when he shows interest

I probably did more when my dog was younger, but did play every now and then with her. She luckily had playmates with a couple of my sister’s dog. She was always way into playing. Sometimes as they get older it fades, but she always loved her toys.
I used to play with my ferret too. Often would put him in a play pen with all her toys. Sometimes went in with him. Used to also take out my parrotlets.

At the moment, I don't have a pet and it's been a while I spend time with any pets. I really don't want to go through the stress of taking care of pets coupled with life responsibilities staring at me. I don't think I'm ready for that drama.

I try my best to find time to play with my cat. I think it's good to give your pets attention, and play time. I find it odd when I mention that my cat like to greet me when I come home and people say he's like a dog. Nah man, it means my cat actually loves me since I give him more than just food and water. I feel like dog people don't understand that cats need attention and show affection, just in a different way than dogs. If you take the time to love a cat and pay attention to it, I guarantee that cat will start greeting you when you get home.

We don't have any pets these days, but years ago we have kept cats and dogs as pets. I used to play with my pets, it was not just for fun but also for relaxation and improving mental health.

The moment you decide to own a pet, you must definitely make sure to make time to play with them as often as possible. This is because that is the only way they are going to feel at home.
I always play with my dog without feeling like I'm doing too much for the dog.
