How often do you get your blood work done and for what?

I get blood work for my thyroid hormones at least twice a year, but sometimes more often if I'm struggling to keep my numbers in range.

I should get the other basic blood work done more often, but that's usually done every other year.

I get it done pretty often. Used to be very rarely. For a while they were watching something with my thyroid which hasn't shown up active since the one time it was.

Actually it was regular bloodwork that caught my kidney disease. Started with really low iron and went from there. So go to several doctors now and naturally they all always want blood work. Usually every few months or so.

I'm supposed to have a blood test done every 3-6 months for diabetes but I always avoid them due to needle phobia.

Once I'm in the blood test lab I'm okay it's just the thought of going that puts me off.

They used to bother me but I get them so often they barely phase me. That or IV’s. I just don’t like to look when they do it.

Only thing that bugs me still is actually shots.

When I had my eye procedure done they put some Emla patches on my hands and arms (They weren't sure where they were going to put the IV) and I didn't feel the needle. Not sure if that's available everywhere in the world though.

Yeah I don’t think we have that here. They’ve never used anything like that on any of the stuff I’ve had done.

I'm supposed to get bloodwork done prior to seeing my endocrinologist, but I keep forgetting to do so haha. The next time I see her won't be until next September, hopefully sooner but I need to get bloodwork done before that. She needs to keep an eye out on my testosterone levels, as well as hemoglobin levels.
